ecoRain™ Rainwater Harvesting System
Many areas do not have a good source of water, however rainwater can be used to supplement existing supplies and conserve valuable drinking water.
ecoRain is a sustainable rainwater harvesting system which cleans and collects 95% of the annual rainwater run-off from roof catchment areas. Rainwater is stored in an underground concrete tank and can be used to flush toilets, for laundry, for gardening, and cleaning.
- Typical Home Owner Application
The VF1 Filter, with a maximum flow rate of 24 GPM of cleaned water, has a recommended connection
capacity for roof areas up to 3770 sq ft. As rainwater arrives to the system, water builds up and is equally distributed across the cascade. Due to the steep angle of the filter cartridge, as the water falls over the cascade, a pre cleaning occurs, where the largest particles are removed and directly discharged to the storm sewer.
The pre filtered water then flows over the secondary stainless steel sieve (mesh size 0.65 mm). Due to the special mesh structure of the sieve, any dirt washes directly into the sewer which means the filter is self cleaning, with very low maintenance. Cleaned water then flows into the underground concrete tank, while the dirt and contaminants are in the storm sewer.
The VF1 Filter is housed in a 20" diameter HDPE structure, with a height differential of 12" between rainwater inlet and outlet elevations.
- Industrial Application
The VF2 through VF6 Filters have a maximum flow rate range of 400 to 1120 GPM with a recommended connection capacity for roof areas from 13,000 to 36,000 sq ft.
These industrial units work under the same principle as the VF1 except they are installed inside a 48" diameter concrete manhole, and the cleaned water then flows to a secondary underground concrete tank for storage.
